Planning Commission

The Planning Commission focuses on land use issues, maintains a Land Use Plan, and reviews and recommends Zoning Ordinance regulations, changes, applications for zoning district changes, development plans, site plans, and special uses.

Materials related to requests for Commission action, including any required fees, must be filed at Ferrysburg City Hall in advance of the Commission meeting when a request is to be considered by the Commission.

Filing requests which are not complete or which are not filed by the meeting deadline, as determined by the Zoning Administrator, will not be placed on the agenda of the respective Commission meeting, nor will they be considered at the respective Commission meeting.

Why Filing Deadlines?

Filing deadlines are established:

  • to comply with various Ordinance requirements;
  • to permit adequate time for staff to arrange the notice for publication as may be required;
  • to permit adequate time for staff to arrange the mailing of notices as may be required;
  • to permit adequate time for the Commission and staff to review the filed materials.
